This lesson outlines how to check for Google Analytics and Google Search Console codes on your site
Now you can test your knowledge...
Question 1 of 3
How do you check to see if you have Google Search Console on your site?
Email Google and ask to see their list of websites in their index and check to see if your site is on that list
There is no need to check as it is ok to have multiple GSC codes on your site
Go to the source code of the site, do a search for the term ‘google site verification’ and if it appears on the page, then you already have GSC installed
Question 2 of 3
How do you check to see if you have Google Analytics Installed on your site?
Look for the Google logo on your home page
Go to the source code of the home page, do a search for the ‘UA’ code and if it is there, then you already have GA installed
Call the Google help line and ask them to check for you
Question 3 of 3
What can happen if you install another GSC or GA code to your site if one already exists?
There could be a code conflict and your data will not be accurate
You will get extra data. After all the more data you get the better
Google is smart enough to figure out which is the correct code and only use that one to correlate data for your site
