This lesson outlines how to optimise Alt Text in Wordpress.
Now you can test your knowledge...
Question 1 of 3
What is an ALT text?
It is a simple file that you upload which embeds itself to every image you have on your website’s image library so that Google can check if you stole them from another site.
It is a simple bit of text to add to the images ‘alt text’ section so that the search engines can identify what that image is about and add to your pages relevancy.
It's not even worth talking about any more as ALL search engines have the capability to identify what an image is trying to depict.
Question 2 of 3
If you have an ecommerce site, is it necessary to include the model number of your product in the Alt tag?
Yes. If you don't include the product number, the images are invisible to the search engines.
No. Unless people know the number of a product, it is pretty much useless information to the search engines.
Both of the above answers are correct.
Question 3 of 3
If you employ an SEO agency to do your SEO, does that mean that your onpage SEO is guaranteed to be done?
There is no way for me to know if it has or it hasn't because SEO an invisible, intangible beast that the average Joe will never be able to understand.
The simple answer is maybe, but then again, maybe not.
If the agency doesn't do On-page SEO first, then Google will hold them in ‘contempt of SEO’ and fine them.
